"Strengthening, Securing and Sustaining Caribbean Beekeeping,"

The Government of Grenada and the Grenada Association of Beekeepers (GAB) in collaboration with the Association of Caribbean Beekeepers’ Organizations (ACBO) invite you to be part of the 6th Caribbean Beekeeping Congress. The Congress is being staged under the auspices of Apimondia's Standing Commission for Beekeeping for Rural Development.  This event has been steadily growing in success and meeting its objectives over the years

The congress in Grenada is widely expected to be second to none; we are making the necessary preparations to ensure its success and attract delegates from the English, French and Spanish speaking countries.

The opportunity will be provided to visit one of the most scenic and beautiful island in the Caribbean with its rich history and a warm and friendly people.

The congress provides an opportunity for beekeepers throughout the Caribbean and wider region to interact, exchange ideas and share experiences. Hands on and practical exercise will be available in addition to a field trip to the sister isle of Carriacou, making the experience an affordable one.

We welcome you to Grenada, a popular tourist haven in the Caribbean. Feel free to invite others to visit  the Isle of Spice and attend the beekeeping Congress. Our appreciation is extended to you for visiting our home page .

The Association of Caribbean Beekeeper's Organisations (ACBO)

ACBO was formed in Jamaica on September 18th 2002 during the Third Caribbean Beekeeping Congress, and is officially recognized as the regional body representing beekeepers. The goal at that time was “to ensure the sustainability of the Caribbean Beekeeping Sector while developing its competitiveness”. ACBO is charged with ensuring that Caribbean Beekeeping Congresses are held regularly.

It began with the staging of the First Caribbean Beekeeping Congress in Tobago from November 17th-20th 1998, with the intention of providing a forum for the regional beekeeping community to address the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. The other congresses were held as follows:
