Call for Papers

 

Persons wishing to submit papers, both technical and non-technical on Apiculture and related topics intended for presentation at the sixth Caribbean Beekeeping Congress in Grenada from November 08th to 13th 2010, and for publication in the Congress report should submit an abstract to the address listed below on or before June 30th 2010

Authors and Delegates will be notified of the acceptance of the Abstracts by July 30th, 2010 and final papers are expected by August 30th, 2010. It should be noted that only Abstracts, Papers and Posters in English will be accepted. All presenters must be registered for the Congress for presentation.

  •  Strategic investment, economics and record keeping
  •  Organic honey and other bee products and standards
  •  Marketing and strengthening trade in the regions.
  •  New exotic pest and disease identification and controls
  •   Environmental issues
  •    Apitherapy and bee venom therapy
  •    Value-added products
  •    Local and regional Manufacturing of beekeeping equipment and supplies
  •  Bee products in human nutrition and personal care
  •  Economic importance of pollination and bee flora
  •  Apiculture Development Issues and
  •  Caribbean country reports and updates

 

 

 

Format: Papers should follow:

Each heading should be in bold capitals and centered

The manuscript should follow closely approved international guidelines. For instance the following is recommended for an Abstract:

The Abstract should indicate:

  • ·        Why study was done (maximum two sentences)
  • ·        How study was done (maximum four sentences)
  • ·        The results obtained (maximum six sentences), and
  • ·        The conclusions drawn from the study (maximum four sentences).
  • ·        Other abstracts should not exceed more than 20 sentences
  • ·        Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect format
  • ·        Subject matter should be of interest to an international audience and be of sufficient technological and commercial nature.

·         The document should not exceed 3000 words. The number of tables and pictures should be kept within reasonable limits and included only if absolutely necessary. Information in text, tables and figures should not be duplicated.

·         Posters should follow the above guidelines as for papers but should be of no more than 1000 words. Emphasis should be on use of pictures, tables and graphs. The Abstract for a poster should be no longer than 200 words.
